A Special Visit

A Special Visit

It’s not every day that presenters from one of the most popular radio shows in the UAE, visit our school.

We had the privilege of having the Kris Fade Show from Virgin Radio, broadcast live from The Aquila School. Pupils throughout our school had the chance to come and engage in a series of activities with the presenters.

Our pupils and staff had the chance to participate in the famous ‘pop quiz’, the After Eight challenge and the make a mummy competition! They received a variety of prizes and vouchers, including tablets, a guitar and tickets to the World Cup in Qatar!

“I was really excited when given the chance to win a tablet. I hate cotton wool and hate Vaseline even more, but it proves you have to give things a go… I won and I am so happy!” said Harry, one of our year 9 pupils.

“Winning tickets to the World Cup was incredible. I can’t believe I am actually going!” said our Teacher Mr McCarthy.

It was memorable for our entire community.

“Being live on the radio was quite strange, seeing as I was on the school stage! It was a great morning and the children all had a great time.” – Ms O’Grady, teacher.

“It was really fun, it was amazing to watch and it as the best experience of my life!” – Keira, year 5 pupil.

“I loved when Kris Fade came because the games were so creative and it was so cool to meet a verified person for the first time!” – Talia, year 5 pupil. .
We are very lucky to have extremely talented teachers at Aquila, who create memorable and engaging learning experiences for our children every day.
