Animal Care

Sometimes, you may well see one of our school leaders dressed as a parrot - but they're not the animals we want to introduce you to.
Having animals around school helps children to become caring and responsible people. Pupils are asked to look after the different animals and are able to visit them as part of their day.

An opportunity to connect with nature and learn

parrots

Aquila the Parrot

Aquila has been a part of the school since before it opened. Having been adopted as the school mascot, Aquila lives in the Parrot Cafe, ready to welcome all of our visitors. If you're lucky, you'll even hear her whistling along to the National Anthem each morning.
rabbit

Rabbits

Our rabbits live in the hydroponics farm and roam freely around on the floor. Pupils are welcome to play with them
cats

Cats

Around school there are several cat feeding stations for the stray cats that visit Aquila. Some of these cats make our school their home - speak to a member of staff to hear the story of the Aquila Kittens!
fish

Fish

As part of the hydroponics cycle, fish add nutrients to the water and help to grow our fruits and vegetables.
birds

Birds

A large range of birds live in our hydroponics farm, flying freely around and living in the trees.
bees

We are currently reviewing if we can home some hives in our new building.
