The Aquila School's Inaugural Birdcage Event Soars with Entrepreneurial Brilliance

Pupils Showcase Innovative Business Concepts, Securing Funding for Diverse Ventures

In a spectacular showcase of entrepreneurial flair, The Aquila School recently hosted its inaugural Birdcage event, where pupils from FS1 to Year 11 passionately pitched innovative business concepts, competing for a chance to secure investment from the school. The event, which ran much like the widely known Dragon’s Den or Shark Tank,  not only encouraged our pupils to come up with innovative business ideas but forced them to confidently present them to our parrots (judges).

The grand finale of the event was broadcasted live, allowing the entire school community to witness the excitement and creativity firsthand, as the shortlisted business ideas were heard once again

We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tom, Viruli, Alya, Layla, Omar, and Ali, who emerged victorious by securing funding for a diverse array of entrepreneurial ideas. These groundbreaking concepts ranged from a mobile book exchange cart to projects involving upcycled materials, custom mug printing, handcrafted bags, personalised tags, distinctive coasters, and unique bracelets.

The success of The Aquila School's Birdcage event reflects our commitment to nurturing a spirit of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among our pupils. These young entrepreneurs have demonstrated not only their business acumen but also their ability to think critically and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

“As we celebrate the triumph of these innovative minds, we look forward to witnessing the growth and development of these entrepreneurial ventures. The Birdcage event marks the beginning of a journey for these pupils, providing them with valuable skills and experiences that will undoubtedly shape their future endeavors,” said Mr. Wayne Howsen, Principal.

We will be hosting other Birdcage events throughout the year. Watch this space for more news about these events.
