IB Career-related Programme
The International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP)* is a unique two-year programme that combines the rigour of the IB Diploma Programme* with the focus on career-related learning.
The IBCP is designed for pupils who are interested in pursuing a specific career path, such as business, performing arts, sports, or IT.
The Aquila School is a candidate school* for the Career Related Programme and Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.
* Only schools authorised by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). The Three Core Components of the IBCP
- Academic subjects: Pupils study Environmental Systems and Societies, alongside one diploma subject that enhances their career-related study.
- Career-related studies: Pupils study a career-related subject in depth. This is one of our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma courses.
- Personal and professional skills: Pupils develop their personal and professional skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The IBCP is a challenging programme, but it is also very rewarding. Pupils who complete the IBCP are well-prepared for a successful career in their chosen field.
