The safety of our pupils is our primary concern - that's why safe comes first in the Aquila Way of 'safe, happy, learning'
We have a number of comprehensive support systems in place to ensure the safeguarding of our community whilst on campus, in class, online or on a school trip.
All of our staff are trained in safeguarding and child protection. This includes any external providers who run clubs/activities on our school site, or work with us during the day. Parents who are registered as 'Helping Hands' are also trained to the same level. We also have several members of staff who have received advanced safeguarding training and are designated as Child Protection Officers.

Mrs Connolly leads our Child Protection Team, which includes the Principal, the Head of Primary, the Head of Secondary and the Head of Inclusion along with secondary Heads of Year and three trained members of staff who speak Arabic, Russian and Urdu.

Part of our campus safety requires all adults to wear their lanyards whilst on site - different colours represent different categories. In an effort to keep our children safe online, we also complete training each year to be awarded the National Online Safety accreditation for safer practices with technology.
