EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Aquila School views CAS (community, action and service) activities as an integral part of the education of our children.
As we will grow to become an IB school we are using the language of IB so instead of referring to clubs or after school activities or ECAs, we are using the IB term CAS – standing for community, action and service.
At The Aquila School CAS activities are offered by all teaching staff including the leadership of the school. They run until 3.40pm three days a week and are open to children from Years 1 to 7. School-led CAS activities are free of charge.
Encouraging children to make choices and to develop independence is a key part of our approach, and as such, all children are surveyed termly to see what CAS activities they want to be available.
This year, based on pupil choice, there is a whole range of CAS activities available – cultural, educational and creative. These include drama, basketball, tennis, making eco bird feeders, gardening, Quran, Arabic calligraphy, cookery, baking, glee, creative writing and art, to name but a few.
We also offer a variety of paid CAS activities which are run by IFA sport throughout the week, which are available for all year groups. You can register your interest here.
