CAMPUS & FACILITIES
As a new school, we are privileged to have a range of brand new, world-class facilities and our spacious, well-resourced classrooms and learning areas are filled with natural light, providing excellent conditions for learning.
We’re proud to announce that we were awarded the Best Design Education Project of the Year at the Design Middle East Awards 2018, a testament to the quality and design of The Aquila School’s campus and facilities.
The Aquila School has a wonderful auditorium that is used for a range of events, from assemblies, to music and theatre performances.
We also have two large multi-purpose sports halls.
Physical activity plays a crucial role in children’s development and wellbeing. Our children enjoy access to two large sports halls, two (heated and chilled) swimming pools (with weekly swimming lessons from FS1), a multi-purpose astro pitch, a dance studio, and shaded outdoor play areas.
Dedicated Music and Art Rooms
The Aquila School believes that art, music and dance allows children to express themselves in a way that enriches their learning by harnessing creativity, which complements academic achievements. Our well-equipped music and arts facilities, which includes dedicated music, art and dance studios, encourages young artists, musicians and dancers of all abilities and across all age groups to get involved and build their self-confidence, imagination and creative skills.
Design Technology and Food Technology
Our curriculum has an emphasis on design and technology – children make things, take things apart, and discover how things work!
We have dedicated food technology/cookery and design technology rooms.
The Aquila School library houses thousands of books to encourage children to develop a love of reading and support their learning.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
We have invested in the latest technology to enhance our teaching and learning, including tablets, Chromebooks and interactive panels for classroom use across the curriculum.
We have our own in-school clinic and full-time medical staff to provide care and support in the event of illnesses and accidents. They are also on hand if families need advice.
Our uniform shop is on-site at The Aquila School, and is open every Sunday and Wednesday from 8am to 3.30pm.
The Aquila School uniform is compulsory for all children.
We actively promote healthy eating at The Aquila School as we know that when children eat nutritionally-rich food they have more energy and approach their studies with more enthusiasm. We enjoy our own in-house canteen providing a daily choice of healthy nutritious meals.
Alternatively, children may choose to bring their own healthy packed lunch. All children should also bring a healthy mid-morning snack such as fresh fruit or vegetable sticks and a refillable water bottle. We also ask that no nuts are brought into the school due to nut allergies.
Families are also welcome to enjoy our community café, The Parrot Café, open daily from 7.30am until 3pm.
