ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Are you moving to Dubai? Experiencing the ‘which school in Dubai’ dilemma? We’re here to help.
We know that choosing your child’s school is one of the most challenging decisions a parent has to make and therefore want to help in any way we can. There is information below and we have a professional team to guide and support you through the admissions process who can be contacted with any questions you may have on admissions@theaquilaschool.com or submit your enquiry here.
We are delighted to be able to offer school tours Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. We occasionally arrange Sunday open days throughout the year. If you would like to book a school tour, please get in contact and we will happily arrange this for you and your family. Please note an appointment is required to visit the school. Please book your visit with our admissions team on +971 (0) 4 586 2700. Register for our next open day here or check our upcoming events. Please note, school visits are by appointment only and are limited to 30 minutes. We know many families want to come to visit so we respectfully ask you to be on time to avoid any delay.
The Aquila School currently welcomes early years, primary and secondary children (up to Year 11), and then will grow in subsequent years to become an all-through school. The Aquila School offers GCSEs in Years 10 and 11, and a decision will be announced in November 2023 with regards to the Year 12 and 13 curriculum.
Looking to save more on your school fees? Recommend us to your friends!
At The Aquila School, we recognise that families and friends are the best ambassadors for our unique style of learning and community-minded environment. To support this, we are rewarding all enrolled families with an extra 1000 AED off your child’s tuition fees if you refer a friend whose child joins The Aquila School.
Is my child joining the right year group?
Using the information below, alongside your child’s most recent school report, we will make sure that there is no confusion over which is the right year group for them, whether you are moving from another school in Dubai or from out of the emirate.
We are proud to always follow the rules when placing children into classes without exception; this ensures fairness and parity for everyone.
Children moving from other private schools in Dubai:
To complete your registration process, we need to have a leaving request (LC) from your child’s previous school. Please visit your previous school and ask them to issue the leaving certificate for your child. You will need to pay them 120 AED. Then, please visit our school bringing the leaving certificate and the original Emirates ID for yourself and your child to register him on KHDA system with The Aquila School.
Year group your child will go to | Age requirement |
---|---|
Foundation Stage 1 | 3 years old by Aug 31* |
Foundation Stage 2 | 4 years old by Aug 31* |
Year 1 | 5 years old by Aug 31* |
Year 2 | 6 years old by Aug 31* |
Year 3 and above | Based on last class attended (leaving certificate from previous school) |
*Please note that if your child is coming from another school within Dubai, we will follow your child’s previous school’s leaving certificate.
*If the children are coming from overseas, with an academic year ending in December, admissions will be based on the year they have completed in the origin country. CAT assessments may be required by the school if needed.

STEP 4 Starting school:
The school fees should be paid for the term before the first day of school. All documents should be received by the school registrar before your child can start.

- Vaccination record for child
- Leaving certificate from previous school (attestation required from some countries)
- Internal school forms (shared by Registrar upon offer acceptance – available below)
Placement of our pupils in their new class is carried out by our teachers and senior team, and for pupils joining us at the start of the academic year you will be invited into school before the term begins to meet us and to find out about the day-to-day running of our school.
In order to allow a smooth transition into our school, we have dedicated start days throughout the week, if you are joining us after the start of the term. Our team will advise you and your family about your anticipated start date, once all required documents and payment has been received.
We then look forward to welcoming you on your first day!
