Welcome to The Aquila School. I am incredibly proud to have the privilege and responsibility of being the founding Principal of The Aquila School.
Having worked in the UAE for 6 years and now entering my twentieth year as a principal, I am excited by the unique opportunity to employ brilliant staff and create an amazing school.
We believe in providing students with ‘amazing learning’, helping children to learn to levels that amaze them and to inspire them to be successful now and equip them to be successful later. We will inspire and support students to discover and pursue their passion in learning through maximum choice and authentic learning linked to life. Our vision places the interests and needs of children at the heart of everything we do. We want Aquila children to be resilient, independent, thoughtful and caring individuals, well equipped for future work and life experiences.
I am delighted to be working alongside Mrs Kylie Cleworth our Head of Primary to make this happen. We both share similar aspirations for our school and have worked together for the last six years in the first ever school in Abu Dhabi to have been graded as OUTSTANDING in all areas.
As an International school, we welcome and celebrate a diverse learning community. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum and it is enriched by the International Primary Curriculum in order to ensure our children become truly ‘international’ in outlook and attitude. We utilise the wonders of Dubai’s locality and ecology along with the culture and heritage of both the UAE and our children’s host countries, to inspire learning and create a sense of responsibility for our local and global environment. As well as focusing on academic excellence, our curriculum will be based on technology (food, design, music and IT) combined with the arts.
We are currently scouring the world to find the best English and Arabic curriculum teachers who will inspire Aquila children to achieve amazing learning.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school soon.
