With just seventeen days until we open our doors for the very first time, this week has seen our team grow. We have been joined by Imtiaz our IT officer. Next week we will welcome Bana our librarian and Charlie our receptionist. Bana will have her work cut out as all of the 15,000 books we have ordered need to be stamped and added to our library system. She will be well supported though – as the philosophy of our school – for adults as well as children – is that we all muck in and work together to provide the very best learning environment.
It feels like every hour more things arrive – as I write the furniture is being placed into the right rooms and the final resources are being unpacked.
This week we have also met with our catering team – finalising the menus for the children – as well as what will be available for our community at The Parrot Café – we will share details with families at our welcome meeting which is at 2pm on Wednesday 29th August.
Thank you to the many families who have responded to our survey – it is helpful to know what families value when choosing a school and it goes without saying that we will do all we can to give children the best education we can.
Free School Lunch
We know that children learn best when they are properly nourished with good, healthy food, and our school lunch provider – who will also be serving food and drink in our community café – The Aquila Café – will ensure that the food we provide is tasty and wholesome. As well as our free bus for two years and founders discount – we have an additional offer – free school lunches for September and October for any child who enrols during the month of August – so if you know of anyone still looking for a school please get them to get in so if you know of anyone still looking for a school please get them to get in touch – we would love to meet them!
Refer a Friend!
At The Aquila School, we recognise that parents and friends are the best ambassadors for our unique style of learning and community-minded environment. To support this, we are rewarding all enrolled families with an extra 5% off your child’s tuition fees if you refer a friend to join The Aquila School.
AMY EATON – PE and Swimming Teacher
We are pleased to introduce our PE and swimming teacher Miss Amy Eaton who is joining us from a school in Dubai. “I am very excited to teach PE and swimming to the children at The Aquila School. I completed my PGCE at Durham University, I then taught PE in the UK and have been teaching in Dubai for the last 2 years. I aim for pupils to experience holistic PE lessons and to get involved in extra curricular sport; to encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle. It is a fantastic opportunity to continue my career in a brand new school in Dubai, and I look forward to working collaboratively with children, staff and parents”
From 30th August all newsletters will be issued via the app. Please remember to download our app to keep in touch with what is happening in our busy school – just look for ‘schoolzine’ in the app store – and then search for Aquila under
